The Art Rod Festival was a sucess! The day was full of fun activities and fantastic music, great food and some of the best people a person could ever meet. Dana Bowman spoke at several area Schools where he talked about the "Abilities" we all have inside. Dana made a dramatic skydiving entrance into Grandview Orchard as he later stated to the crowd "That was definately a three point landing". More later as I get use to this "Blog". Be Well, Greg DePauw

The photographs taken by Rob Rush were added to the web site a few days ago. Rob spent the whole day shooting images at the Art Rod Festival. I looked at about 300 images and chose 50+ to be added to the site. It is a great overview of the activities that took place at Grandview Orchard. Please take a few minutes to look over these photos.
More later, Greg

Curently working with Jr. high Art students at Riverview Grade School on a Art project called, "Knowledge Noggins".
I can see that the students are excited about creating Noggins or heads out of clay.
The "Knowledge Noggin" theme is to represent a persons who has had a positive impact on society. The students must research the person they choose and develope a short biography which defines that persons place in history. Then the clay heads are placed in a small 5" x 5" open wooden box with the head clearly visable. The students have decorated the box to reflect the person inside. Their stories are placed on the back. I see it as a great way to unite Art along with research and writing skills. These "Knowledge Noggins" will be on display in Metamora on December 3rd from 1-4 at the Village Hall.
See You There. Greg DePauw

WELL, WELL. The 9th annual ART ROD FESTIVAL was a great success. Each year we see more people, more activities, and more great people helping make this event one to remember. This year the PINSTRIPERS were a new addition "WOW, WOW what a cool thing" could be heard after viewing the artists pinstriping away on a panel. We plan on having an even larger PINSTRIPING area for 2007. All pinstripers are welcome. Read the thank you message and lok at the 2006 FESTIVAL.
